coming from the perspective of a guy who has followed the francise since it begun:
11th: Ghosts – Mediocre SP, Bad map design in MP and shit killstreaks
10th: Call of Duty 3 – Felt like a Worse WaW
9th: Advanced Warfare – Not a fan of the exo-suits and the Weapon balance is terrible. Zombies are nice
8th: Modern Warfare 3 – A rehashed MW2 which was more balanced but slower paced. DLC maps were trash
7th: Modern Warfare 2 – Got the young teenagers into CoD, and had an absolute terrible Balance between Weapons and killstreaks.
6th: Call of Duty – Simply for being the OG and having some really good maps for its time
5th: Black Ops 2 – High paced and ok balance. Maps were good but Zombies were not that good
4th: Call of Duty 2 – The Best WW2 shooter of its time, had a very balanced multiplayer and amazing map designs (Bolt action rifles were OP but you needed skill to use them)
3rd: Black Ops – My favorite Multiplayer to date, many good maps, great weapon balance (bar famas) and The best DLCs in CoD PERIOD.
2nd: Call of Duty 4 – Introduced Perks into the francise and had the most balanced Multiplayer of any Call fo duty. Has my favorite weapon in all of call of duty
1st: World At War – The Best Singleplayer in Cod History, Introduced Zombies and the best map in zombie history (Der Riese). Multiplayer had the best maps I’ve seen in an FPS, and while the MP40 was insanely broken on console, it was fairly balanced on PC. And is the last game to have War as a gamemode (the best gamemode in the francise)
